Blurb:

One wedding, one catastrophic speech, and two lovesick people searching for redemption in each other.

I was supposed to marry the girl across the street—my lifelong best friend and the love of my life, Roselyn Metz. So why am I playing best man at her wedding?

One too many drinks and a vindictive one-night stand lead to a disastrous wedding toast.

But it also leads me to her—Emerson Metz—Roselyn’s younger sister, now all grown up and just as brokenhearted over her sister’s new marriage as I am.

Love Sex & Other Games is a serial—each part is the size of a novelette—and intended for an adult audience. Due to foul language, sexual innuendos, dirty talk, and adult themes, this serial is recommended for readers 18+

Review:

The blurb says all you need to know but I’ll just add that it is a serial comprised of three parts, they’re all out now, they’re all reviewed on here, and they are inexpensive at 0.99cents apiece.

I primarily review “MM” or gay romance, fiction and lit, but I also read other romance and fiction when I like the author, the series, or when the blurb grabs me. I enjoy Cheryl McIntyre, I haven’t read one of her books yet that I haven’t enjoyed so I figured it was time to go into Cooper’s and Emerson’s world.

Interesting premise; you’re in love with the woman who marries your brother. The sister of the girl you believe you have always loved is in love with your brother. You give a passionately snarky speech, from the hurting heart, at the wedding. You get to know the sister of the girl you believe has no match…. And I guess you know where this is going. I’m interested in the telling of the story, the one for Cooper and Emerson. Although Cooper hits some jokes I didn’t like occasionally – not keen on the double D thing – I grew to like him. He developed as the first instalment did, it leaves room for even more growth. I like that. I thought Emerson was funny and charming and gave better than she got. Way to go, girl! I was worried that the MCs were going to be second best to their injured hearts but Cheryl McIntyre walked a really good line and she’s too good a writer to linger there. She’s there just enough to pull at your emotions. Oh, and that cover is perfection. Want to play some naughty, crazy-word Scrabble? It’s all cool as long as you can back that word up with your definition. Cockwamble, anyone?

Some quotes to head off into part 2 with…

Love Sex Quote 1

love sex quote 2

“Ems, please don’t go.” If she leaves, it’s going to change everything. I don’t know how I know it, but I do. I feel it in my bones. I have no idea what we are. What this is between us. Or where it’s heading. But it feels like it could be the start of something

This is good reading and I’m now reading the next one. I like Cheryl McIntyre and she is becoming an auto buy. If you enjoy well written contemporary romance all I can say is grab a copy. Although I should probably rate these at the end, because this is just starting, I have to give a rating, so 4 Stars!

This looks so good. You know a story is good when you’re eager to jump into the next installment. I’m glad this one was a hit for you. I’m eager to see what happens in the next one. 🙂

Great review.
