From the acclaimed author of Safe as Houses and The Abode of Bliss, ten wondrous tales of yesterday, today, and tomorrow–of our familiar world and others. An American teenager meets Adonis on a sailing cruise off the coast of Turkey. A merchant of the Silk Road encounters an odd dog–and a brother–from another world. An old lady on a distant planet attempts to help her great-grandson grow up in a world that will soon forget women ever existed. A Massachusetts boy refuses an offer to visit fairyland. Another American teenager on vacation encounters three fallen angels and is transformed. Alex Jeffers’s first collection of fantastical stories is a treacherous box of delights.
I’ve been publishing the fantastical stories of Alex Jeffers for several years–it just seemed natural to recommend he release a short story collection. Most readers prefer novels, but I adore story collections and anthologies. I don’t always have a lot of time to read, so a short story often has the perfect length and investment for me. This book has everything from a modern day retelling of the Adonis myth to fallen angels transforming the genders of siblings. The endings are often unexpected but always worthwhile. It’s become one of my favorite authors. I hope he will be added to your must-read list.
We have one copy of You Will Meet a Stranger Far From Home to give away. You may choose print or digital edition.
Thank you to Lethe Press for another fantastic giveaway. These stories all look unique and I can tell I’d enjoy them. Added to my TBR. 🙂

This looks a pretty magical anthology, although I am more of a fan of novels I do like the occasional short story if I only have a few moments spare to read 🙂 Thank you for the chance to win a copy 😀
I like the occasional short story as well and this anthology looks fantastic. Thanks for your comment, Sula. 🙂
What a wonderfully eclectic mix this one offers! I haven’t read anything by Alex Jeffers, but I’d definitely love to. Also, what an awesome author photo. It makes me smile even if he isn’t!
