Lethe Press, Day 11 Giveaway: Grave Desires by William Holden
Grave Desires by William Holden
The imagination of William Holden is one that values sweat and sperm and blood. And shadows to hide the rivulets of these fluids as they descend and drip from the naked flesh of men. These tales of homoerotic horror haunt a reader long after the eye moves from the last words on a page. Stories of a lecherous carnival barker who deal in breath and souls, a town where Halloween has become more than playful tricks and sweet treats, the promise of desire at the razor’s edge of life and death.
I published Bill Holden’s first erotica collection, A Twist of Grimm. Interesting reveal on the publishing process: Bill wrote the book in “old narrative style” and I thought it crippled the book and he should resort to a contemporary voice. He disagreed. We sent emails back and forth. Impasse. As publisher I suppose I could have put my foot down and he would have either had to capitulate or withdraw the book. But I respected his conviction and relented. The book went on to be a finalist for Best Erotica at the Lambda Literary Awards!
We have one copy of Grave Desires to give away. You may choose print or digital edition.
Cindi, this is a book for you. If ever I saw a blurb that had your name on it, this is it 🙂
Once again, thanks to Lethe for this terrific giveaway.
My thoughts exactly when I saw the information for it. This is a “Cindi” book if I ever saw one. I’m really interested in reading it.
I love these types of stories. I’m eager to read this. Thx for the giveaway and congrats on your anniversary.
I love the cover. It leaves me with many questions. Thank you.
This looks fantastic. I love homoerotic horror.
Another one that looks really good. Thanks for the giveaway.
I like the sound of this so please include me in the draw as well. Thanks
Steve, I love your background story on this one! I’m glad Bill had enough conviction about his work to keep to stand up to your suggestion and that you had the respect for him to let it go. I’m sure it was a tough call on both your parts. I don’t know that I would have been drawn to this one on the blurb alone, but your story on it and its place in the Lambda has me hoping for a win. Thank you!
