Blog-Versary Post: Welcome Back to Willy’s World, Candi Kay

Welcome Back to Willy’s World!

It’s that time of year again. Not only does On Top Down Under Book Reviews celebrate another year – 5! – but it’s almost time for Willy the elf and his buddies to make their annual appearance. This time they’ll be showing up in Barry the Lonely Reindeer & His Bashful Elf, #4 in the Willy the Kinky Elf & His Bad-Ass Reindeer series. If you’re not familiar with Willy’s World, it’s actually the North Pole. The North Pole isn’t as it appears in fairy tales. Santa Claus isn’t all sweet and jolly, and Mrs. Claus? Well, let’s just say that she gives new meaning to the words Ho! Ho! Ho!

Of course, you can’t have Santa Claus without his elves and flying reindeer. The reindeer are the most respected beings in the North Pole, though the elves do all the work. It’s not fair but if you’ve visited Willy’s North Pole you know that things are rarely fair in that part of the world. 🙂

In past installments, we’ve met Elf Willy and his bad-ass reindeer, Randy. Then there was virginal Reindeer Evan and his sexy buck, Derek. Evan just wanted to fly Santa’s sleigh but his worst enemy did everything in his power to destroy him. That enemy, Blake Simpson, had some pretty serious issues of his own. Once he got the help he needed, he was given the task of babysitting a guest of Santa’s, Seth Grant, who just happened to be Blake’s mate. Blake had a lot of making up to do with Evan and the others. It wasn’t easy but by the time his story was told he’d made amends with them all and even found love along the way. Now we meet Blake’s younger brother, Barry. Because of Blake’s above-mentioned issues, the two were never close, but Blake is trying his damnedest now to change that.

Barry is just shy of a year of escaping an abusive relationship. Thanks to therapy and his family he’s finally getting over his fears and is eager to start living again. That’s easier said than done. That is, until an accidental touch with a shy elf changes everything. Barry’s never been with an elf before but he’s eager to get to know this one. He’s on the right track until his ex starts causing trouble again. Between the ex, overbearing parents, an overprotective brother, and even a sad Santa, what’s a reindeer to do?

With each story in the ‘Willy’ series, there’s a theme. Willy’s was love is love. Evan’s was about adult bullying. Blake’s was addiction, recovery, and redemption. Barry’s is about domestic abuse.

Not all is serious, however. This is Willy’s World after all. 🙂

 GIVEAWAY

**This giveaway is now over. Congratulations to Deb**

To celebrate On Top Down Under’s 5th anniversary and the upcoming release of Barry the Lonely Reindeer & His Bashful Elf, I’m giving away an e-copy – reader’s choice – of one of the books in the Willy series. Or, if the winner prefers, an e-copy of Eros, my contemporary take on Eros and Psyche’s love story from Greek Mythology. Eros also has humor but it’s ultimately a sweet love story between two long-lost loves.

The giveaway will run from Oct 5th to midnight Oct 12th (US EST) with the winner being chosen and contacted within 24 hours. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post. Congrats to On Top Down Under on 5 years and good luck to all who enter the giveaway!

Barry the Lonely Reindeer & His Bashful Elf

Blurb:

From the world of Willy the Kinky Elf & His Bad-Ass Reindeer. The North Pole isn’t exactly as it appears in fairy tales. It has the elves and Santa and his reindeer, but Santa and Mrs. Claus aren’t the jolly couple the world believes them to be. Far from it, actually. The reindeer are all shape-shifters who transform into gorgeous beings in human form and are respected by all. Reindeer Barry Simpson leads a simple life. He works, comes home, then does it all again the next day. Once upon a time, he was outgoing and social. That changed after he became involved with an abusive reindeer. It’s been a year since Barry ran and he’s finally getting over his fears, eager to start living again. Ricky is a shy elf who blushes at every turn. One accidental touch and Barry’s convinced he’s finally met his mate. He’s never been with an elf before but he knows in his heart that this is the man he’s been waiting for. Between meddling parents, an overprotective brother, and even a sad Santa Claus, Barry and his elf are pulled in several directions. When his abusive ex-boyfriend starts getting violent, Barry has to fight to protect not only himself but also those he loves, including his newfound mate. Approximately 50,000 words. Available now for pre-order for November 1, 2017 publication.
