I went into this story not really knowing what to expect. Sure, I knew it would be erotic and I knew there would be a lot of sex. But what I didn’t expect was to be a bit touched by it (and not just that way). Don’t get me wrong, there is a lot of sex in this book and saying it’s hot would be a major understatement but I was seriously moved by the story as well.

Kevin moved to Memphis from St. Louis six months ago. He moved to escape the life he had and ultimately start over completely far away from all that was familiar. Within days of his arrival, he has a cheap apartment and a decent paying job. Not much is revealed about what Kevin is running from until much later into the story.

Kevin starts having dreams – dreams so erotic and so real that he is convinced that he is going crazy. What starts as a an occasional sexy dream later turns into sometimes a dream within a dream, each more erotic than the one before it and the same man playing a huge part in each. The first one starts with a good looking rentboy that Kevin is eager to blow. The surroundings are familiar to Kevin but yet not. There is a run-down building where Kevin and the man called Vic get down and dirty. There’s a construction site and even a screaming homeless woman. With each dream more details are revealed to Kevin, details that are familiar but the memories are just outside of his reach. With each comes more and I’m not just referring to the sexual situations that take place with each one. There is more familiarity.

When something happens in the real world that Kevin doesn’t remember, he is terrified of his mental and physical health. Does he have brain tumor? Is he losing all sense of reality? Only later does everything begin to fall into place. He has run from his past in St. Louis but has he?

The Night Visitor 2

The sex in this book is down and dirty and exactly what I was looking for. It’s hard and rough and it doesn’t take place in the best surroundings. The reader will turn the pages quickly to see how the story will play out and what in the world is really going on with Kevin. Is his night visitor a fantasy or is it reality? Is Kevin really losing his mind or will everything come together where it makes complete sense to not only Kevin but the reader?  I admit that I couldn’t put my Kindle down once I got involved. I couldn’t wait to see how everything would play out for Kevin and how the author would have it make sense once it did. It definitely made sense at the end.

There is so much more I would like to say about this book but I am going to do what I hope others do – not spoil it! Had I had the resolution spoiled for me before I was able to read it myself I would be furious.

Overall, an outstanding short. If you read this, pay attention to everything in Kevin’s dreams, every detail from the very first blowjob he gives to the hustler to even the physical surroundings. You won’t be disappointed.

I would definitely pay attention to everything. The book sounds like it says a lot in so few words. Glad you didn’t spoil it, like you say it needs to be read. Great review and the GIF is definitely Karen approved 😀
