Review –
Occasionally a new author pops on my radar. I’ll read one by them and know that I’ll be reading everything else they put out in the future. That’s definitely the case for me with Edison Hart. I read Downing Tools recently and loved it, so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Spotting Jake. I wasn’t disappointed.
Peter had Olympic hopes but when they fell through, he started college and is hoping to get a degree and move on with his life. He also helps out the younger Olympic hopefuls by volunteering. A big gym buff, he spends a lot of time at the gym on campus. While there, he (as the blurb states) studies a bit of the male eye candy. The object of Peter’s attention? That would be Jacob Bailey. Jake is a theater arts student whose crowd doesn’t exactly fall in line with the jocks. He spends time doing his own workouts, not knowing that Peter is always watching him from the other side of the room. Peter may be a big man, but he’s shy when it comes to Jake. And we can’t forget the fact that Peter turns into a horny bumbling mess every time Jake is around. 😉
The story picks up when Peter is convinced that he just caught Jake looking at him. Hmm… so maybe Peter’s stalking gawking isn’t one-sided? Peter knows he has to make a move. I mean, come on! He’s been watching Jacob for over a year and surely it’s now or never, right? That move happens in a big way when Peter sees Jake walking down the road one evening. Jake makes it known fairly quickly that the other man hasn’t been the only one staring and fantasizing. *grin*
This, like the story before it, is extremely sexy. The first sex scene goes from zero to sixty pretty fast and is hot as hell. After that, the two men and their story move along quickly, and the main sex scene? Hello! I won’t give it away, but suffice it to say that it’s steamy, raw and well, hot.
Overall, this is another outstanding story by this author. While it may only be around 59 pages, there’s a lot of story in those few pages. The sex scenes, as I mentioned, are extremely sexy. You’ll fall in love with all the characters and the story behind them. The author shows you (in the epilogue) how the guys are doing farther down the road, so you aren’t left with just the here and now. Another thing I love about this book (like the one before it) is that it’s so Aussie. If you follow this blog you know that the “Down Under” part of On Top Down Under is my Australian blog partner, Kazza K. I’ve learned quite a bit of the lingo since we became friends and that makes me enjoy Edison Hart’s stories that much more. He again gives us non-Aussie readers a glossary in the beginning of the book.
Highly recommended if you are looking for an erotic and sweet love story with quite a bit of humor. You can’t go wrong with this author.

I’ve become such a fan of this author. As far as the lingo, I don’t think I learned any new sex talk, but I did learn quite a bit of other things. You’ll have to expand my vocabulary. Is your sex talk different from ours? LOL!
