An ARe Alphas Release!

When love’s on the line, the brave jump in with both feet…

Small town cop Clint Rivera can’t catch a break. His ex of two weeks is suddenly getting married, his dogs tore up his furniture, he’s getting evicted, and he’s out of beer. When he decides to solve his alcohol shortage by going to his ex’s engagement party, Clint winds up too drunk to drive himself home.

Enter gorgeous deputy mayor Hawk Black, the man who constantly shows up unexpectedly and sends Clint’s body and mind into a tailspin with nothing but his whiskey voice and blue eyes. After months of patience, Hawk can finally seduce the man he’s been craving.

Clint’s day might not have started out well, but Hawk’s going to make sure it ends with a bang, preferably in bed. He’ll show Clint some rewards are worth the risk. With love on the line, Clint will need to decide if he can open his heart, tear down his shields, and jump in with both feet.

Review:

Welcome to Hawthorne, New Mexico, where Clint Rivera is just back from two weeks away after a break up with his closeted boyfriend? Fuck Buddy? No matter what he was, what he is now is getting married to the bosses daughter after two weeks of separation from Clint. What’s with that? On top of this, he has an eviction notice because the place Clint rents is being sold. His dogs have trashed his furniture, the fridge falls over when he kicks it and the only thing that gets busted up, besides the wall, his best boots, and the fridge falling over, is the beer. Clint needs a beer. Could things get any worse? Why yes. Yes, they could. Because he has an invite to scumbag Ewan’s engagement party.

Had Ewan Gifford lost his damn mind? Who invited a person he’d been fucking to a party celebrating his engagement to the other person he’d, it now seemed, been fucking?

“Ewan thinks it’s funny to invite me to this bullshit? The least that asshole owes me is a beer”

So, stuff it, Clint’s going because Ewan owes him that freakin’ beer… or four. To add to the mess, Clint is dressed rather casually for the big affair and all they have is bloody champagne. He gets a tad pissed and apart from a frisky valet who shows interest, someone else has his back.

Hawk Black, who I kept calling Black Hawk, is the deputy mayor of GIF-jumping-inHawthorne and has been crushing on Clint since, well, forever. He’s relatively new in town but he’s known Clint longer than that – you have to read it. He makes sure he gets Clint home safely and sobered up. Hawk is somewhat intense, and that’s putting it mildly. He wants Clint hard core, throws the “L” word out there pretty quickly and is a stalker and a half – he knows about Clint’s rendezvous’, which Clint and Ewan kept a lid on, his professional background, his dogs names and how he came to have them, God love a man who loves a dog and who is, uh, passionate. They ditch condoms easily but this is meant to be a bit OTT, fun, and very sexy, and it totally achieves all of these things with ease.

Overall:

Jumping In is a short novella at 58 pages but it’s fun, sexy and the writing and story fit in perfectly with the title. Highly recommended happy-sexy reading. 4 Stars!

“So on top of being gorgeous and smart, you had a powerful career and tons of money and you decided to move to Hawthorne, New Mexico, to take up with me?”
“Yup.” Hawk wrapped his hand around Clint’s dick. “Best decision I ever made.”
“You’re insane.”
Lying on his stomach, Hawk put his face in Clint’s lap and said, “I prefer to think of myself as a romantic.”
“Fine. You’re an insane romantic.”

This looks like a really good short story. I think I’d love Hawk. Great review. And that GIF? Wow. 😉
