Submissions + Contact

Contact. Review Requests. Submission Policies:

To submit e-books for review preferably email us at ontopdownunderbookreviews@gmail.com

or you can message us on our Facebook Page

1. Author name and title of book

2. Genre or sub-genre

3. The blurb and word/page count

4. Publication date

5. Time limits in which to review (if required)

6. Preference of reviewer – Kazza K or Cindi. We both have a unique style in which reviews are written and preferences on types of premise or concepts we like. Our preferences are listed below or take a moment to have a look at previous reviews, you can find them listed by reviewer.

While we strive to read and review as many books as we can, there will be those not suited for the site or the individual reviewers and there will be time constraints. Not every book will be accepted for review. Kazza K and Cindi live in two different parts of the world so there may be a delay in when we can get back to you.

On Top Down Under posts honest reviews and this should be noted when submitting a review request. We do not love every book we read but we always endeavour to be constructive – we suggest looking at previous reviews for our approach. On Top Down Under does not accept books where a glowing review is expected.

If a book is accepted for review, it will be noted at the bottom of the completed review that an e-copy was provided to the blog in exchange for an honest review.

On Top Down Under Book Reviews is an adult reviewing site and content posted is not meant for viewing by those under the age of eighteen.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

Interviews, Giveaways and Blog Tours:

We only run blog tours and interviews for books/authors we have read and can recommend. If you are an author or publisher and wish to be interviewed, part of a blog tour, or spotlighted at On Top Down Under, contact us with any relevant information and we’ll take it from there.

The following is a guide by reviewer –

(We all read mobi for Kindle. )

Kazza K:

I’m a dark reader by preference. This does not exclude me from lighter reading for the right story, but my first love is dark, bent, twisted, offbeat and taboo. I mostly read LGBTQ writing these days, with an emphasis on gay romance/fiction/lit. I’m definitely flexible in my reading and also step outside genre for the right books. The following themes/concepts appeal to me the most:

love a well written psychological story

Paranormal – darkly romantic/bloody/erotic is my preference (With an emphasis on Vampires, Shifters, and the unusual)

I like ’em out there – Dub-Con, Non-Con/Rape, Slavefic… and more

Twincest and associated ‘cests.

Ménage (Of all descriptions/equations)

Angst/Tension/Drama

Master-Slave. Domestic Discipline – Preferably kinky to very edgy

Crime/Murder/Mystery/Suspense

Futuristic

Dystopian

Queer Lit/Fiction

Alt-Historical/Sci-Regency

I’m also very partial to –

High Fantasy

Erotica. Kink. Different Fetishes. Taboo

Urban Fantasy

Historical or Period Writing

Dry or Quirky Humour. Satirical

Also –

I’m a total character obsessive

I will read books with infidelity

I am not anti women’s bits in my reading – if you write in the “MM” or gay romance genre you’ll understand.

I do not have to have a HEA or cookie-cutter ending to my books

I want character diversity

I like to be made to think and feel to the nth degree

Depends on the book, but I tend to review with pictures, some of a highly adult nature, consider this may form part of my review for your book before requesting my review. If you write the words, I like to give them a visual.

I read indie authors, first time indie authors included.

I abhor animal cruelty, it will stop me from reading your book.

Cindi:

I mostly read LGBT books, but I am flexible in my reading and am known to step away from these completely on occasion. The following are a guide –

Angst (with a HEA)

BDSM

Contemporary

Cowboys

Dark/Erotic Horror

Erotica (M/M or M/F)

Family (I love books with kids in them)

Ménage (M/M/M only)

Mystery/Suspense/Thriller/Horror (with or without romance)

Paranormal (With an emphasis on Ghosts and the occasional Vampire and Shifter)

Romance (M/M and the occasional M/F)

Humor. I love something that can make me laugh

I do read books that do not fall into the above categories. These are preferences only. If a book looks interesting to me, I will read it. Contact me via email with a quick summary of your book or with the official blurb if you are interested in having me review your book. Occasionally I will add photos aside from the book cover and they may be adult in nature, or they may not. Keep this in mind before sending a review request.

Guest Reviewers:

Paul: Paul is our audible/audiobook reviewer. He loves sci-fi, dystopian and high fantasy, and he loves a long book. He looks for a unique, compelling story mostly featuring gay characters. Email us if you have an audible/audio book for him to read/review or an epic sci-fi, dystopian book.

Jay: Jay also reviews at Cocky Reviews. He loves gay erotica, kink, or hot and sexy gay romance. Contemporary is his thing and shorter reads and novellas are his favourite, but for the right story he’ll go longer. He doesn’t review often as he’s currently working as well as studying.

All our guest reviewers review here as well as on Goodreads. Do not contact a guest reviewer directly expecting a review at On Top Down Under. Please contact Cindi or Kazza via email. Guest reviewers are not authorised to obtain books through Netgalley for this blog.

Hi, I tried a couple of times to post comments on your reviews but it comes back as saying the system says I am a spammer, can you help or advise what I should do?

Sula, no worries. If your comment ever goes into the spam folder, we’ll remove it and place it where it’s supposed to go quickly. We’ve had to implement strong spam filters as we sometimes get hundreds of spam comments daily. We are both very diligent about checking the folder throughout the day so any non spam comments are quickly moved to the right place.

Thank you Cindi, now I know it goes somewhere it can be retrieved and not lost forever in the great WWW 😀 I totally understand why you do it, as I see quite a few blogs where spammers come in later and start posting rubbish. Regards S
